As sunset falls in Kansas City, the music begins. Summer evenings here awaken the city’s vibrant heritage of blues and jazz, transforming an ordinary evening into a magical night. Outdoor venues like the CrossRoads Music Fest or the intimate rooms at Green Lady Lounge draw you into live performances that overflow onto sidewalk patios.

The 18th & Vine Historic District comes alive in the summer, with summer festivals that enable both up-and-coming local acts as well as globally known performers to take to the outdoor stage. There’s something deeply gratifying about drinking a cold drink while blues guitar riffs waft on the balmy night air – it’s simple Kansas City magic.
